Anthem Prescription Management
Anthem Prescription Management has released the most recent version
of its "Guidelines for Pharmaceutical Trade Relations, Formulary Product
Evaluation, and Pharmaceutical Contracting." This document can be used
as a reference for vendors and suppliers to follow when establishing
contracts for existing and new pharmaceutical products. Anthem Prescription
Management also introduced "Your Online Pharmacy", a collection of pharmacy
services and helpful tools to aid members in managing the prescription.
Its features include order prescription refills, check order status,
search formulary, find a pharmacy, view prescription history and read
confidential messages. The online services assist the pharmacies with
questions and answers and updates current events at Anthem Prescription
as well as downloadable forms.
Anthem Life Insurance Company
Anthem's life Insurance is more specific in group-life and disability
coverage. In addition to its conventional group insurance plans, it
also offers a wide range of alternate funding arrangements and administrative
services for self-funded benefit plans.
Group insurance products
Anthem Life's product offerings for employee benefit plans include group
term life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), dependent
life, supplemental life and AD&D, short term disability (STD), and
long term disability (LTD) insurance. The employer selects the coverage
and benefit amounts and pays all or part of the premium. Products and
availability vary state to state.
Voluntary insurance products
Anthem Life also offers voluntary insurance products for employees to
purchase through payroll deduction. Employees choose their coverage
and pay the premium, and the employer performs the administrative functions.
Our voluntary offering comprises voluntary group term
life (VGTL), voluntary short term disability (VSTD), voluntary long
term disability (VLTD), and voluntary accidental death and dismemberment
(VADD) insurance. Products and availability vary by state.
Administrative services (ASO plans)
For larger employers who prefer to fund their own disability benefits
but want professional claim administration, Anthem Life can provide
highly customized services. Generally, Administrative Service Only (ASO)
plans are limited to short term disability benefits. Anthem Life's services
range from full claim processing and tax reporting to "review only"
programs.
