Individual Health Insurance-Medicare Types
|
|
TYPES OF MEDICARE:
The Medicare program is divided into two main parts namely Hospital
Insurance and Medical Insurance. Hospital insurance helps pay for patient's
needs such as hospital services, certain home health services, hospital
care and skilled nursing facility services. Medicare insurance affords
for doctor services, certain home health services, outpatient hospital
services medical equipment and supplies and other health services and
supplies.
DISABILITY INSURANCE:
Disability insurance restores income that you lose if you have a long-term
illness or injury and cannot work. This is an essential type of coverage
for working and aged people to consider. Disability insurance does not
cover the cost of rehabilitation if you are injured. A form of health
insurance, which provides periodic payments when the insured is unable
to work as a result of sickness or injury, is the disability insurance.
Some employers offer group disability insurance and this may be one
of the benefits where you work. Alternatively, you might be eligible
for some government-sponsored programs that provide disability benefits.
Many different kinds of individual policies are also available. Disability
Insurance provides a periodic benefit to an insured, which has become
unable to work. Disability insurance can also be called as income replacement
insurance, weekly indemnity, short-term or long-term income replacement
insurance or short-term or long-term disability insurance.
Every disability insurance policy from every insurance company is very
different; this is not a product to simply shop for the most competitive
rate. To buy the cheapest disability insurance policy on the market
is to throw money away. The odds of being paid a monthly benefit under
a cheap contract may be significantly lower than receiving benefits
from a quality contract. The goal of this site is to provide you with
a resource to construct an educated decision on your own.
LONG TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE:
Comprehensive information on Long Term Disability Insurance including
product rates, reviews and comparisons on policies will help protect
your income, credit, and mortgage payments. A Disability Insurance Policy
will provide assurance that if you become disabled and can no longer
achieve the work in order to earn your income, you will have coverage.
The Social Security and Supplemental Security Income disability programs
are the largest of several Federal programs that provide assistance
to people with disabilities. While these two programs are different
in many ways, both are administered by the Social Security Administration
and only individuals who have a disability and meet medical criteria
may qualify for benefits under either program.
CALIFORNIA DISABILITY INSURANCE:
California State Disability Insurance (SDI) is a partial wage-replacement
insurance plan for California workers. The SDI program is State-mandated,
and funded through employee payroll deductions. SDI offers affordable,
short-term benefits to eligible workers who undergo loss of wages when
they are unable to work due to a non-work related illness or injury,
or a medically disabling condition from pregnancy or childbirth.
The SDI program covers the majority of California employees, approximately
12 million workers. Some employees are exempt from SDI; for example,
railroad employees, some employees of non-profit agencies, employees
who claim religious exemptions, and most government employees.
Four other states and one Commonwealth offer a disability insurance
program. They are Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York and Hawaii, and
the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Each state operates its program independently.
