According to the poll conducted by Watson Wyatt and the National Business Group on Health, health care benefits cost will go up 8% this year, down from the 10% percent increase as per the anticipation in 2005. They also expect costs to rise 8 percent in 2007. The assessment also says 86% of employers polled said their health care benefit costs came in at or below budget in 2005.
Watson Wyatt´s Ted Nussbaum says that health care costs stay behind a financial burden for most U.S employers. Employers have to consider strategically about ways to manage their health care costs, they have to assess all projected changes for evidence of efficacy. Almost one-third of employers said they will start encouraging their employees to use heath care services wisely.
