Health insurance is a must for everyone in spite of age and financial situations. Good health is guaranteed, and health crisis have a knack for appearing at the most unexpected times causing trouble. Employers provide insurance plans which fall under group health insurance as a token of incentive. As there is no regulation making it mandatory for the employers to provide this insurance plan some do not offer it. Still employees can avail this through an affiliated association. Self-employed individuals can also avail this plan. Most of the trade organizations offer this affiliation group insurance plan. Group plans can be generally classified as small employer plans and large employer plans. Companies eligible for small plans should have employee strength of two to fifty employees who work around thirty hours a week. Large employer plans should be offered by companies whose staff are more than fifty. Also these companies should not be self funded or sponsored through associations such as the churches, trade unions etc. These are affordable than the private health insurance plans.
