President Obama has decided to expand State Children's Health Insurance program. This program provides insurance to nearly 7 million children which have risen to 11 million children. This program will provide low cost insurance to children upto 18 whose families earn too much to qualify for Medicaid. Monthly premium for these programs range from $4-$17 per month. Monthly premium depends on certain factors like child's age, family income and type of plan chosen by the family. To qualify for this program, minimum income of the family should be $14,000 a year and the number of people in the family. The maximum income should be nearly $50,000 and also the family size will be taken into account. Under new legislation, even pregnant women and children of immigrants can also benefit from this program if they meet the income criteria. Costs can include $5 co-pays for some medical visits.
